Have you ever had too much to drink?

Everyone knows hooking up with someone while under the influence is a bad idea. But…sh*t happens.

What did I do?

Who did I do?

Where are my keys…and my underwear?

Welcome to nights of not-so-innocent drinking gone awry. Find out where it all went wrong…so terribly wrong…

From sexy neighbors to embarrassing advances—and that person who you know for a fact wouldn’t be there in the first place had it not been for the alcohol. Remember or forget? It doesn’t matter—because either way, those nights can still follow you forever.

Truth be told, when the night is over and the beer goggles are off, some things can never be unseen.

Review Stephen King's Drunken Fireworks

Synopsis:

Only on audio! A brand-new, never-before-published Stephen King short story unavailable in any other format!

Alden McCausland and his mother are what they call “accident rich”; thanks to an unexpected life-insurance policy payout and a winning Big Maine Millions scratcher, Alden and his Ma are able to spend their summers down by Lake Abenaki, idly drinking their days away in a three-room cabin with an old dock and a lick of a beach.

Across the lake, they can see what “real rich” looks like: the Massimo family’s Twelve Pines Camp, the big white mansion with guest house and tennis court that Alden’s Ma says is paid for by “ill-gotten gains” courtesy of Massimo Construction. When Alden’s holiday-weekend sparklers and firecrackers set off what over the next few years comes to be known as the Fourth of July Arms Race, he learns how far he and the Massimos will go to win an annual neighborly rivalry—one that lands Alden in the Castle County jail.

Read by beloved Down East storyteller Tim Sample—praised by Stephen King for his “wit and talent and good-heartedness”—Drunken Fireworks makes for explosive audio listening.

My Review:

The reason I got this audio book out of the library was because A. It was Stephen King who is one of my favorite authors and the man who has written most of the books I love besides Cassandra Clare and Stephanie Meyer, B. It was an unreleased short by one of my favorite authors, C. It had 2 discs so I didn't know what to expect, and D It's by Stephen King.....

Drunken fireworks was really awesome, it had me laughing all the way through as they battled with their fireworks. Although Stephen King lied and there was no CE4 firework (I looked it up) *shakes fist* As the story went along I had no idea how it would end, but the OMG moment at the end was priceless and well played by the talented Mr King. Mr. King really painted an awesome picture of a little (though not truly "little" old lady) and her son sitting in their old fashioned lawn chairs on the end of a makeshift dock shooting off fireworks with hysterical results.  The quest to find the biggest and loudest one was even funnier and the mother was probably my favorite character reminding me of another character I love in an Eric Asher book (seriously look Eric up he's awesome)

I could totally see this happening as something similar happened to us when we were in New Hampshire last year and we were totally loving it. In two words Fireworks ROCK. So with that being said hats off to the amazing Mr. King for this hilarious and cute short story that is just so Mr. King's style. He's always got the most amazing twists and awesome things hidden up his sleeve!

If you love funny and amusing reads and Mr. King this story is for you. He's totally got his finger on the pulse of America with this one and from now until eternity, every time I hear a trumpet I think of this story.

“Promise me, little elf.”

Evangeline Frost had a plan, once. Attend a prestigious art school, become a renowned painter. It was a dream she shared with her father, one that was ripped away in the car accident that claimed his life.

At California’s Kindred Hides Wildlife Preserve, Evangeline thought she had finally grieved for her father and moved on. But now, halfway around the world in Zambia at a new sanctuary for animals, Evangeline finds herself haunted by old memories … and a promise she has yet to fulfill.

Nightmares plague her dreams. Caster’s flirtations confuse her. And when poachers invade the preserve, they leave behind a devastation that threatens to break her apart.
Now Evangeline lives for a different dream: to save the lives of every animal who calls the preserve home, no matter the cost. A crusade that strains her budding relationship with Caster, a mission taking her further away from dreams of the past ‒ and gives her an orphaned elephant calf to call her own.

Evangeline Frost has a new plan. Protect the preserve and keep a promise that will finally heal her heart …or put her very life at risk.

| About the Author |

I believe growing up in a really small town gives a person a little advantage when it comes to the imagination. You need one or you go mad.
Needless to say, mine saved me. After it got me into trouble first, that is. That's the problem with a vivid imagination, all the lies you tell.

I am happily married with two girls.

I have two giant dogs, two savage cats, and a penchant for a glass of red.

Also, I drag my bread through the sauce. I can't help myself, bread is life.

According to my age, I am meant to be a responsible adult, but it isn't going well at all. I would still head off to Hogwarts tomorrow and I suspect there isn't a single wardrobe I haven't crept into, hoping to find the door to Narnia. And don't even get me started on the King's Road, I get lost.

Fortunately, I am an international bestseller so I have wormed my way into the "Quirky" or Eccentric" category.
Thank God for that.
I am represented by Natalie Lakosil from the Bradford Literary Agency and published traditionally with Montlake Romance.
