I was so sad when this book ended, I LOVE Chaney's cast of characters in this book. He is under a personal threat from me to not kill my favorite character in his book (bwahahahaha). However, this is part 2 of the Variant saga and is a wonderfully written story. I loved the first book in this series and Transient Echoes doesn't disappoint. The story is filled with colorful characters of all different walks of life. Chaney took this stellar cast to the next level with a skip in years between the events of the first book. However it is a seamless transition to Transient Echoes.
Mae is back and now she's a scientist. (Like she predicted in book 1) and John is in the Milit
ary as Mae said he would be. I am so impressed with the dynamic between these two characters. John is the boyfriend all girls want let me tell you! He needs to give classes!
The one thing I love about these two books is the sense of loyalty between the characters. They are as much family as any blood family. That's something I really truly love about these books.
Chaney's writing is so descriptive and you really "live" in the incredible world he creates. With the introduction of new characters with the old this is a symphony of awesomeness. I am eagerly awaiting book 3 of this series. Chaney is a very gifted author and I'll be checking out his other books.
